Dr. Plambeck provides individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults. She uses evidence-based and mindfulness approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, anger, mood disorders, grief and loss, insomnia, living with chronic health conditions, pregnancy and postpartum, parenting concerns, relationship concerns, and stress. She is passionate about providing personalized care to help empower clients find richness and vitality in their lives, even when hardships are present. Dr. Plambeck has an active, warm, and engaging therapeutic style. She offers specific strategies and tools that help shift her clients’ relationships to difficult thoughts and feelings, and to take steps towards their personal goals. She creates a space that is respectful, warm, and welcoming to all.

Dr. Plambeck has extensive experience working in forensic settings and medical settings. For her dissertation research, Dr. Plambeck led mindfulness-based ACT groups focused on anger reduction with incarcerated men, and studied the long-term benefits. Prior to attending graduate school, she worked at a short-term crisis facility that provided crisis support and wrap-around care to those living with chronic mental illness. Dr. Plambeck grew up in the Bay Area and loves spending time in the mountains, running, reading, practicing meditation, and exploring with her family and young kiddo.
