Dr. Plambeck provides individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults, using evidence-based and mindfulness approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy. She specializes in treating anxiety, anger, mood disorders, grief and loss, insomnia, living with chronic health conditions, pregnancy and postpartum challenges, parenting concerns, relationship issues, and stress.
Dr. Plambeck is passionate about offering personalized care to empower clients to find richness and vitality in their lives, even in the face of hardship. Her therapeutic style is active, warm, and engaging, providing clients with specific strategies and tools to shift their relationships with difficult thoughts and emotions, and to take meaningful steps toward their personal goals. She creates a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive space for all clients.
With extensive experience in both forensic and medical settings, Dr. Plambeck’s background includes leading mindfulness-based ACT groups for incarcerated men focused on anger reduction, as well as studying the long-term benefits of such interventions. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked at a short-term crisis facility providing crisis support and wraparound care for individuals living with chronic mental illness.
A Bay Area native, Dr. Plambeck enjoys spending time in the mountains, running, reading, practicing meditation, and exploring with her family and young child.
